What Do You Mean They're Not Superheroes?: A Brief Look at Scott's Picks

MY INFINITE WISDOM DICTATES THAT THESE SHALL BE THE WINNERS

Best Single Issue (or One-Shot)
Justice League of America #11: “Walls,” by Brad Meltzer and Gene Ha (DC)
-What Brad Meltzer managed to do with this issue was stunning ... and then you add the ground-breaking, jaw-dropping, genre-defying, infinite creativity of a guy like Gene Ha and you have an Eisner
Best Continuing Series
Y: The Last Man, by Brian K. Vaughan, Pia Guerra, and Jose Marzan, Jr. (Vertigo/DC)
-This should go without question
Best Limited Series
Atomic Robo, by Brian Clevinger and Scott Wegender (Red 5 Comics)
-If you missed out on this absolutely awesome mini-series then you can't possibly understand why this pick was so easy for me ... get the Trade in June or wise up and find the issues
Best New Series
Scalped, by Jason Aaron and R. M. Guéra (Vertigo/DC)
-WITHOUT QUESTION!
Best Anthology
Postcards: True Stories That Never Happened, edited by Jason Rodriguez (Villard)
-This was almost 24Seven Vol. 2 but the idea behind Postcards was just too cool to deny
Best Digital Comic
The Abominable Charles Christopher, by Karl Kerschl, www.abominable.transmission-x.com
-KARL F'ING KERSHEL
Best Writer
Ed Brubaker, Captain America, Criminal, Daredevil, Immortal Iron Fist (Marvel)
-Bitch all you want but Daredevil and Immortal Iron Fist was enough to get him the nomination, Captain America and Criminal will be what gets him the win.
Best Writer/Artist
Rutu Modan, Exit Wounds (Drawn & Quarterly)
-This was soooo close to being Jeff Lemire but I think that Rutu Modan has a better shot.
Best Penciller/Inker or Penciller/Inker Team
Jae Lee, Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born (Marvel)
-He took his skill to a higher level last year
Best Painter or Multimedia Artist (interior art)
Eric Powell, The Goon: Chinatown (Dark Horse)
-This showed that Powell can do more than just humor
Special Recognition
Matt Silady, The Homeless Channel (writer/artist, AiT/PlanetLar)
-This was such a touching and amazing first effort from a talent that is bound to have more to say.
